Northern Heart is driven by powerful human storytelling and by amplifying hidden, underrepresented voices their films can change the world. Northern Heart is an award-winning, diverse lead production company specialising in branded content who work with clients such as BBC, Waterbear Network, Together TV, The Guardian, Mirror, Historic England and TATE.
Born in the engine room of Britain, Northern Heart produces content nationally and internationally.
The team also run the Northern Heart Doc Fund, a unique scheme designed to help kickstart early North West based filmmakers create their first documentary by providing specialist mentoring and a cash grant.
Scott Bradley, Shooting Director & Producer
Scott is always striving to push his creativity, develop new ways of working and collaborate with new talent. He’s driven by animal welfare and environmental stories. Passionate about the North West, Scott is a regular contributor to Creative Lancashire. In 2022 Scott was selected on BFI Network’s ‘Creative Producers’ scheme which coaches the best up and coming Northern Producers.
Scott has also been instrumental in Directing and Producing some of Northern Heart’s original productions such as ‘Ocean Greens’ (Dir. Waterbear Network), ‘Finding ‘Appiness’ (Prod. BFI / Doc Society) and ‘Joy Uncensored’ (Prod. The Mix).
Natasha Hawthornthwaite, Shooting Director & Editor
Natasha is an award winning filmmaker whose films cannot fail to move you. Her colleagues would describe her as a ‘people person’ and an ‘empathetic storyteller.’ She has the unique ability to create meaningful connections with the people she meets, finding the emotional pull in the stories she tells. Whether she’s working for a corporate client or on a TV documentary, she’s able to find universal themes that’ll resonate with audiences.
In 2022 Natasha was selected on Creative UK’s ‘Female Founders’ scheme, a coaching programme empowering and upskilling fourteen of the most aspiring screen entrepreneurs. In recognition of her contribution to the film industry, Natasha was awarded BAFTA Connect member status.
Natasha’s recent work includes Directing both ‘Finding Appiness’ (BFI / Doc Society) and ‘Joy Uncensored’ (The Mix)
