With beats that are hot like fire and a sound that's just as fresh, Chris Brown has become a bona fide problem in the music industry, capturing the undivided attention of both ladies and fellas alike. Check the latest Shine interview to find out how the 16-year-old singer got started, what he thinks about the success of his latest single and what he looks for in a girlfriend!

Shine: When did you start singing?

Chris Brown: I started singing when I was 11, but I started going to studios and recording seriously and stuff when I was 13.

Shine: How did you end up being signed to Jive records?

Chris Brown: My manager, Tina Davis, brought me to Jive records. We shopped around to a bunch of different labels and they all wanted to sign me, and I chose Jive.

Shine: Why do you think "Run It" became such a big hit so fast?

Chris Brown: (Laughing) Cuz' everybody wanna run it! And it's good quality music!

Shine: How did you hook up with Juelz Santana for the remix?

Chris Brown: He my homey, so my manager hooked it up...

Shine: Are there any other artists you'd like to work with in the future?

Chris Brown: Rihanna...maybe do a couple....definitely with my man Ne-Yo! Lil' Wayne, David Banner, T.I. ...Maybe even Nas or Jay-Z!

Shine: You grew up in a small town in Virginia. At 16, what does it feel like to be in the middle of the music industry all of a sudden?

Chris Brown: It's great cuz' my team is strong. I can't say how long I'll be in the game, but it's a strong possibility I'll be around a long time!

Shine: What are some of your favorite things to do besides sing?

Chris Brown: Play basketball, design shirts, write music...talk to my fans on the Internet. And I like to talk to girls!

Shine: Do you have a girlfriend right now?

Chris Brown: Well, right now I'm keeping my options open. No, I got two girls--my momma and my manager! But don't take that out of context. (Laughing)

Shine: What are some of the things you look for in a girl you like?

Chris Brown: It really doesn't matter. Just a nice personality. She has to be funny in all aspects. Somebody I can chill with. And she gotta' be able to take charge sometimes!

Shine: What can fans expect from you next?

Chris Brown: My next single is called "Yo," and I'm gonna' be doing a lot of different shows and gettin' my clothing line off the ground!***
