Fresh off a world tour with Shaggy, 21 year-old Na'sha recently talked with Shine Magazine about what she's learned so far, and where she'd like to go from here!

Shine: When did you start singing?

Na'sha: I started singing at the age of five, when my mother put me in the church choir.

Shine: How did you come to be signed to Pure Records?

Na'sha: I did my demo in Dayton (Ohio). By way of association, my management knew Pure Records. So the demo got in their hands and they were like, "We gotta fly you up."

Shine: Is being on tour with Shaggy your first experience performing live?

Na'sha: Not performing live, no. But it's my first performance out of state. It was the first time I've been to the U.K.

Shine: What's the most important thing you took away from that experience?

Na'sha: The diplomacy that I've picked up. Dealing with different people and different cultures. That was very important to me.

Shine: What can fans expect from your album?

Na'sha: I think you can expect a little bit of everything. It's very eclectic. I've got pop songs, R&B and hip-hop, so it's got a little bit of everything.

Shine: Are there any artists who've inspired you from the past?

Na'sha: Tina Turner is one of the big ones...Whiteney Houston also. And Lauryn Hill's really good too, her voice is like silk.

Shine: Are you a fan of any artists in the music industry today?

Na'sha: Of course the ladies of Destiny's Child. Brandy also, she has a nice sound, and I've been compared to her a lot.

Shine: If you could have one wish for your career, what would it be?

Na'sha: I would want to have a prosperous career and, of course, like everyone, to obtain longevity. Just to have a long-lasting career.***

Once in a while an artist comes along that in one moment moves you to tears, and in the next, just makes you want to move. Na´sha's (Pronounced Nay-sha) debut album, "My Story" does just that. Born 21 years ago, this songstress began writing poetry at a very early age. Her story begins in Columbus, Ohio where she endured the struggles of inner city life and how, through music and her unwavering determination to succeed, was able to leave it all behind.

Na´sha's writing and tremendous vocals are so captivating that she attracted a host of all-star producers such as, Grammy-Award winning producers Scott Storch and James Poyser; Cool & Dre, Sting Int'l, Zukhan Bey, and R&G Productions. The result is a mix of Hip-Hop, R&B, and down right soul, which makes the album an eclectic blend of creative music that has something for everyone. Na´sha is featured on Shaggy's upcoming album release on Geffen Records and is currently performing with him on his world tour.
